It’s confirmed!! FARM 2013 will be Oct 24 – 27 at the Sheraton Westport Tower, St. Louis, MO

After hearing a glowing report from incoming board member*, Jane Godfrey, we feel confident that the Tower will be to your liking (if not more so) than the Chalet which was not available. We expect to use the Playhouse again for the official showcases and other evening events which is a much quicker indoor walk from the Tower. So mark your calendars and stay tuned for updates throughout the year.

Acoustic Cafe with John Gorka recorded Live at FARM

We just received word from Rob Reinhart that NEXT WEEK Acoustic Cafe will air the segment we taped with John on Oct. 11. It will be posted to the Acoustic Cafe website – acafe.com – on Sunday evening, November 11 and will run on all affiliates between 11/12 and 11/18.

Fond Farewell from a very grateful President

At the risk of being a blubbering, gushy sap – I love you all so much! If there was ever any doubt in my mind that getting involved with the FARM community was a good thing to do, those doubts are long gone. Suffice it to say, I learned a lot and I am so full of gratitude for all the support you have given me and humbled by all the mistakes I’ve made along the way.

It’s really heartening to step back and marvel at how far we’ve come. It’s true we have a lot to be proud of, but none of it would have happened without a slew of dedicated volunteers and all of you who bring your positive energy and spirit to the conference each year – especially those who have stuck with us from the beginning. We’ve worked together to improve the quality of the conference without losing the sense of community and camaraderie. We’ve become a conference where relationships are built, where the seeds of long-term friendships are planted, where first-timers and old-timers learn from each other, where inspiration roams the halls, where business gets done but where the “all about me” mentality is not the way, where rather than scoping out the competition, we’re cheering on our friends.

Now, after 5 years on the board (4 years as conference director and 3 years as President) it’s time for me to move on. Board Secretary, Bob Hofbauer has volunteered to step up and carry on all the great work we’ve done over the years. I’m confident that he, along with a dynamite board of directors* will continue to nurture the community of FARM in the way you’ve come to expect – from the heart.

You all have enriched my life in so many ways with your music, your generosity, your support and friendship. I feel incredibly blessed because I know that while I may be retiring as President, you and FARM will always be part of my family!
